Greenville

Founded in 1771, Greenville has grown into the health, entertainment, cultural, and educational hub of North Carolina. For more than a hundred years, Greenville was known only as being an important tobacco market and the home of a small state college. However, by the mid 1960's, things began to change. The East Carolina Teachers College, Greenville's small state school, had grown substantially becoming the third largest state-sponsored school. The Greenville Museum of Art, Magnolia Arts Center, and The Greenville Theater Project can satiate appetites craving the arts while East Carolina College provides plenty of action for the sports lover looking to cheer on the Pirates...arrrrrg.

If there was a city in North Carolina that had it all packaged beautifully in a quaint, cozy town this would be the place. For nature lovers, the Croatan National Forest is nearby. For those artistically inclined, the Bank of the Arts is the perfect spot to visit. Home to the Oriental Cup Regatta, visitors won’t run out of opportunities for boating, sailing, fishing, and other water sports.
